Car in question -
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Going on a cruise Sunday till the 12th. Seller would only move 200 on the price, I think it’s fair though. My girlfriend decided if it’s still there when we get hack then she’ll move forward. Car was super clean though, I could really see her loving it

Awesome, hope it works out, I’m thinking of a c4 lately myself but I gotta get the wife a new car first.

That’s a pretty good deal, at least it would be in my area. Pure speculation: will you leave the Doug Nash in it? That would be the first thing to go for me. I definitely want an 84, but I will want a 96 interior swap. Put an original LTI, T56, and coilovers underneath and you got a pretty potent package.

any particular reason you want a crossfire car?
I haven’t done any substantiating of the rumors, but I’ve heard 84's have some hard to find/one year only parts
(and savage suspension setups, which i would definitely w ant lol)
and the crossfire in my dad’s ‘82 doesn’t make for a fast car, if thats what you’re trying to achieve

Unless the current owner has already done it, I would plan on replacing the weather stripping, especially around the targa top.
Even garaged, I’ve seen lots of C4 and C5 Corvettes with stripping that looks like it was made from paper- mache.

Would probably leave it in unless something went wrong. Basically for the last year or two my GF has wanted to get something cooler (rn she has a 2007 Chevy equinox, it gets the job done but it’s certainly not a fun drive) and more like what I drive. Looking for something like 5k and under, old school, manual and in solid shape. She only commutes about 10 miles a day so this should work out well.
Corvette wasn’t really on her radar, she wanted something more like my old bmws or an old 190E, but this one is a pretty cool look and seems to be in very good shape. Most E30s for this price are clapped out, there was a 190e we were gonna go look at but the 75 year old dude didn’t leave a phone number and doesn’t respond through the Hemmings inquiry either. The 190 is a weird case where I feel like it would be bad parts/maintenance wise $$$ but at the same time I work at a Benz dealer and have techs that would def help so I’m a bit better equipped to deal with an old benz than most.
Any idea what coils people usually use? Was reading up on that a little last night. Would definitely do brakes and fluids and tires when we get it then probably coilovers in a little while, but street friendly ones. I’ve driven some shitty coilover rides, but once I actually bought a (properly researched) street coilover setup for my clownshoe I’ve been super impressed that the ride can be softer than before yet also has less body roll and much less judder over bumps. You can make it incredibly stiff, but rn I have it set a little softer than the medium setting. Handles way better than before, especially in quick transitions (like when you have to dart left then right), much more neutral balance I don’t feel any understeer. Going to the track with her in November, I’m super excifed

Definitely not looking for a fast car, just looking for a manual old school car in nice shape that my girlfriend likes lol
